What file types and sizes can I upload?

Last updated

Upload a JPG, JPEG, PNG, or WebP file up to 20MB. Output comes back at 4K with no watermark on it, including the free designs. Those are the only hard limits, and most phone photos clear them without any preparation.

What you get back #

A 4K image with nothing stamped across it. Downloads carry no watermark, including the free designs. That is worth checking against alternatives before you commit, because a free tier that returns a watermarked or personal-use-only image is not really a way to evaluate output quality: you cannot put it in front of a client or a buyer, so you learn whether the tool is pretty rather than whether it is usable.

HEIC and other phone formats #

iPhones default to HEIC, which is not on the accepted list. Most sharing paths convert to JPG automatically, so this rarely comes up, but if an upload is refused it is worth checking. On iOS, Settings then Camera then Formats then Most Compatible makes the phone shoot JPG directly. Android devices generally shoot JPG already.

Bigger is not better #

There is no quality benefit to uploading the largest file you can. Sharpness, light, and framing determine the result; file size does not. A well-lit 3MB photo beats a dark 9MB one every time, and the two upload in much the same time. If you are working from an old or low-resolution photo, the output is bounded by what you put in, so start from the largest clean copy you have rather than a screenshot of it.

If you need it larger than 4K #

Sharpen and enlarge takes a finished design further, which is what print and some listing portals want. Run it last, once the design is settled: upscaling an intermediate version spends a credit on an image you are about to replace.

Your first 3 designs are free, no card needed.
